Mondy Ciappina (Italian/English Kitesurfer, Windsurfer, Cricketer and Free diver) and Johanna Berg (Swedish/Sri Lankan Engineer and Kitesurfer) came to Kalpitiya in 2011. They rented a small house in the village and spent most of the days kitesurfing in Sri Lanka and enjoying the simple island life in a still unnoticed kite paradise.
Already during their first weeks they met many welcoming faces, some of whom were to become like brothers and sisters to them, and so they decided this was where they would settle.
With the interest in kitesurfing growing all over the world, putting the pole for that first cabana in their garden was a natural step, and so was inviting their new found friends to join their team.

They restaurant being situated far from big cities and close to nature results in fresh, fresh, fresh! Seasonal fruits and vegetables and sea food from the local fishermen makes up most of their menu which is an eclectic mix of traditional local and modern western flavours.
They idea is to serve healthy (and filling!) meals satisfying taste buds and fuelling for days of adventure. Their kitchen is influenced by Italy and once in a while they serve crispy thin Italian pizzas which fresh herbs from their garden.
